Life is too short to prick out individual tiny seedlings like lobelia. In any case I want a decent size clump I can plant out quickly.
This half tray has up to 1500 seedlings in it, in theory. No-one has that many modules handy. The way to handle these is to prick out in clumps.
Dive in and grab a clump of 20 or so, a good pinch worth.
They can be pricked out into modules as a clump like this.
Frankly it is still a little time consuming, but a lot less than individually.
Short and sweet today.
I’ll be back soon with more propagating news and tips.
On the few times I got seeds to grow. I used a teaspoon handle to divvy them up.
And I like the clumping idea. Much easier than individual pricking… which is hellishly boring!

They either grow as a clump, or one seedling bullies the rest into submission. Can do with veg as well. You get smaller veg but more yield in the same space. Carrots, leeks, turnips, beetroot etc. They just push each other out the way, apparently.
