The area we are staying in is quite mountainous, alpine even, and very green. None of that baked out brown that was beginning to be prevalent back home before we left.
Six on Saturday, then. Six things, in the garden, on a Saturday. Could be anything. A flower, a tool, a harvest, a pest, a problem, a success, anything at all! Join in…
A holiday Six from me this week. All are wild flowers seen around and about. Since I know nothing about them I shall let the flowers do the talking…

Those are all so pretty, it’s hard to pick a favorite, but I would have to go with your first photo, with the lovely thin, thin petals and that pinkish, lavender color. I love wildflowers, maybe even more than cultivars. I think it’s their tenacity – a quality that is underrated, imo. Enjoy your vacay, and don’t worry about replying to everyone. We’ll give you a pass this time! Here are my six:

Gosh, I can’t choose a fav amongst those wildflowers. I really like #1 & as yourself, #4. If Jim’s right about the himalayan balsam, then I give it 5 stars for smell & pity whomever has to pull the seedlings out of their garden (as we did every year 2 gardens ago – even the woods behind our house had a solid undergrowth of h balsam). Hope you guys are having a great time. From Twitter, it seems you’re doing a lot of walking, the best way to visit a country. Have a great time & forget about us!

Beautiful plants those and it looks from Twitter like their setting is stunning too. Have you tried hunting down a local book on wild flowers? This is something I like to do when on holiday, much to the annoyance of my family, who’d rather not trail around on such fools’ errands. Ah, so now I am not alone in enjoying the misty green delights of far-flung European parts! It looks stunning and those wildflowers are gorgeous, makes me wonder why I bother with a garden when nature does such a great job. I love seeing the back-to-front season shifts on 6 on Saturday. It’s lovely to have a reminder of snowdrops! Good old ‘Bowles Mauve’. It keeps for two to three seasons here then has to be renewed. The hot dry weather here in UK has seen mine off early. It is very brown and dry but still trying to flower. It’s a ‘do-er’.

Bowles Mauve has the same habit here, June..itās fortunate that itās easy to propagate. I know what you mean about the seasons. Iāve been enjoying everyoneās summer flowers in the depths of winter.
