The time available for gardening action is rapidly shrinking down to weekends only. It’s dark here by 8pm now, usually the soonest I can make myself available for outside work during the week. I can get stuff done in the shed since I have power and light there, but otherwise I’m limited to what I can do whilst equipped with a headtorch.  The weather is still mostly agreeable, mind, so I should be able to get some useful gardening done this weekend.  Anyhow, enough moaning about impending gloom, it’s time for Six on Saturday. Six things, in the garden, on a Saturday. See what I did there?  Could be anything – a flower, a tool, wildlife, foliage, a pesky weed, a completed project, anything at all. Join in!

Here are my Six for this week.

1 – More hollyhock action.  Sown this year, this plant is about 2 feet tall and should get to 6 or 8 feet tall next year. I wasn’t expecting any flowers this year, but here are some more.  A pale frilly yellow in this case.

2 – Pelargonium ‘Moulin Rouge’.  Your bog standard pellie, but with a difference – I grew them from seed. Normally I pick up pellies by the tray for a few quid but these I nurtured, and very fine (if ordinary) they are too.

3 – Gaura ‘Passionate Pink’.  This plant has flopped about the place, so isn’t very attractive as an overall unit, but the flowers are pretty, I like them a lot. I’ve taken some cuttings of this in the hope of increasing it. I did the same last year but managed to kill the cuttings at some point in the process.  Fingers crossed for this year’s batch!

4 – Begonia oojamaflip. Another of those basic, normally by-the-tray purchases, again these were grown from seed. Meh.  Shan’t bother next year.

5 – Lobelia. Also another tray-purchase, this time actually purchased by the tray. I did actually try to grow from seed this year, but lost them in the heat – I left the whole tray out of the shade, they dried to a crisp while my back was turned. OK OK, it was probably a few days…

6 – Fuchsia, notsurewhatii.  Might be Mrs Popple, really not sure. It’s nothing special as fuchsias go, but is providing a splash of colour in full shade. Can’t argue with that.

Those are my Six, what are yours?  If you’d like to join in, just write your post, pop a link to it below and maybe mention my blog in yours. For more details and for other ways to take part, please take a look at the brief participant’s guide.

Have a great weekend, enjoy the garden as we slide gently into Autumn, at least round these parts.  Don’t forget to check back in as more links get added.

I’ll be back next week with another #SixOnSaturday.
