So it begins. Of the 40 little piles of seeds I could be bothered to sort, several have germinated.
For reference, the piles were numbered as follows:
Here is the whole tray with just a few signs of greenage.
Number 1 had germinated (just one) but has since died, not sure why. Two more seeds left in that batch!

When these are a little larger I will prick them out, probably into a seed tray for now. let me know if you recognise any of these.
There was also a sizeable batch of seeds that were too small to sort. Those have begun to germinate in numbers, several different types as far as I can tell.
I’ve pricked out similar looking seedlings, just a couple of types.
That’s it for now. I’ll be back soon with an update on more germination and potting on.
Still too early to identify.

37 looks like basil. You’ll know if you pinch one.

It’s possible but unlikely, the vast majority of these are hardy perennials.

What fun that looks! I enjoyed figuring out (wrongly at first, and at second…) what grew from a mixed butterfly seed packet. I’d be lost without labels and a list for my winter sown jugs!

Number 36 looks like it has quite distinctive leaves already. No idea what any of them are though!

36 might be hollyhocks, lots thought the seeds looked familiar.

Could be another sort of mallow/malva. It is sort of altruistic looking after these orphan seeds. A bit of detective work coming up (literally) for you! Thanks for sharing.

Could be. Yes, I like it, I am performing a valuable public service! I’ll keep telling myself that…
