The clematis are doing very well this year, even the laggards, the reluctant growers, are much improved.
1. C. Voluceau (I think…)
2. C. Prince Charles, probably.
3. C. Rebecca, probably.
4. C. Comtesse du bouchard, probably.
5. C. Warsaw Nike, maybe.
6. C. The President, definitely.
I still have plenty of other clematis yet to flower, you can be sure they will feature here at some point.
Apologies for the brevity this morning. Normal service will be resumed next week. Assuming I can remember which day of the week it is!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, stay safe.
I’ll be back next weekend with another #SixOnSaturday.
My first ever Six on Saturday: https://pines-n-roses.blogspot.com/2020/05/six-on-saturday-9th-may.html – well better late than never, isn’t it. I just recently discovered your blog, now reading your old posts, a lot of useful info here about propagation. I am too obsessed with plants (and hence, the cheapest ways to multiply them in quantities !:) – some things works, some not, so I am here to learn.

Hello! Welcome. I don’t seem to have the time to do as many posts on propagation as I used to. Must try harder!

what wonderful clematis, I’m not very good at growing them to be honest. Here is my Six on Saturday post, only a day late but it was sunny yesterday! https://patientgardener.wordpress.com/2020/05/10/six-on-saturday-irises/

yes i’ve lost a few over the years, including one that i recently killed immediately on planting (forgot to water it). for the most part though they are pretty robust.

I concur with your confusion over days of the week! I’m furloughed so the days are merging into one long cycle! Lovely clematis – bet they’re loving the sunny days. Here’s my six for this week https://greengirlgardener.com/2020/05/09/six-on-saturday-9th-may/

Clematis – one of my favourite groups of climbers.
We are looking for some help in identifying a few varieties this week. Hope the SoS team can help.

Haha! I love all your probable (and solitary definite!) clematis, Jon! I admit to being a bit of a nerd in terms of labelling, but I do still have a couple of probables or possibles amongst my clematis too – but it’s not surprising you were happy to have some more mysteries! My six are at https://thepropagatorblog.wordpress.com/2020/05/09/six-on-saturday-09-05/ Thanks for hosting

i’m normally pretty good at labelling, but these are a combination of vanished labels, or unlabelled plants at purchase. i bought a load of clematis cheap several years ago that were potted three to a pot and just called “trio”. i separated them and they grew on, slowly. plus i compounded things by deliberately buying 3 unlabelled clems recently. haven’t even planted all of those yet…

As one does, of course! Peeking at the bud trying to open on another on my free ones it is looking like it might be C florida ‘Sieboldii’…
