The tulips are on the verge of making an appearance and they will steal the limelight from the less showy daffodils, so I’m going to dedicate this edition of Six on Saturday to the daffodils still doing their thang in my garden. Six on Saturday then, Six things, in the garden, on a Saturday. Could be anything, you decide. Join in!

Here are my Six for this week.

1 – Narcissus jonquilla ‘Martinette’. New to me this year, these live in a planter by the front door. I could have crammed the same number again in I think, they are a little sparse for my likeing. Still, they are pretty and have a fabulous fragrance, perfect for by the front door. There are several blooms per stem, an added bonus.

2 – Narcissus ‘Thalia’. A very delicate plain white. I have added more for this spring after enjoying a small group of them last year.

3 – Narcissus ‘peach cobbler’. New to me this year, I admired this in a fellow SoSer’s garden last year and wanted to get some myself. A double, they allegedly have a fragrance too, but I can’t say I’ve noticed.

4 – Narcissus ‘Pipit’. This is an unusual variety, fading over time to a pale yellow, almost white, often with a stripy effect. Sadly it has not been a long lasting bulb for me, I think I only have one flowering stem left per clump, from an original 25 planted just 3 years ago.

5 – Narcissus ‘Beauvalon’. In their second year, I believe they have increased in number with no intervention from me. Rather striking en masse, I have a big (and apparently growing) clump on the verge at the front, greeting anyone foolish enough to park in my spot outside the house.

6 – Narcissis ‘Barret Browning’. Also in their second year, I rather like the contrasting flattish trumpet (cup).

Those are my six, what are yours? If you’d like to have a go, just publish your post and pop a link to it here in the comments. If you also mention my blog in yours, that would be tip top. For more details you can read the brief participant guide.

I hope you have a splendid long weekend (for those of you in the UK) and that you get some serious gardening in. I think yesterday might have been the best of the weather. Oh well. Don’t forget to check back later as more links get added during the day.

I’ll be back next weekend with another #SixOnSaturday.
