Here we go again, Autumn already, meterologically speaking. I managed to get my bulb order done during the week, much later than in recent years. I was fearing stock shortages but that wasn’t at all evident with my supplier of choice, Parkers Wholesale. Once again I have bought lots of bulbs, about 800, and once again I will HATE planting them. It’ll be worth the hassle. Probably.

Six on Saturday then, you know the drill. Six things, in the garden, on a Saturday. Join in!

Here are my Six for this week.

1 – Lychnis coronaria, seedhead. Evidence of lack of deadheading, this will probably mean my lawn if full of lychnis seedling next spring.

2 – Eupatorium purpurea, ‘Joe Pye Weed’. I was underwhelmed with this in the back garden, now I’m underwhelmed with it in the rear garden. It looks a lot nicer very close up than it does as a garden plant. I think this is a weak version that didn’t come true from seed. I was expecting a much more purple flower, this is barely pink. I’m going to dig it up.

3 – Hydrangea ‘Annabel’. Mainly white over the summer, but turning green as she heads in to her Mrs Haversham phase.

4 – Japanese anemone ‘Honorine Jobert’. This clump has done particularly well this year for some reason. They are upright, tall and flowering profusely.

5 – Rose ‘The Pilgrim’. My repeat flowering roses are revving up for another go around. First to flower has been the Pilgrim here, just one so far, but lots more to come.

6 – Nasturtiums, sprawling. These are the descendents of some seeds I bought years ago. Every year more grow, then drop seed, which then grow again. I originally bought them to climb up a fence, but now they just sprawl through and over everything in this border. I don’t mind for a while then they start to take over. Eventually I get fed up with them and pull them out.

Those are my Six for this week, what are yours? If you’d like to join in just publish your post and pop a link to it in the comments below. If you also mention my blog in yours that would be spiffing. For more details you can read the brief participant guide.

Have a super weekend, don’t forget to check back later as more links get added during the day.

I’ll be back next weekend for another #SixOnSaturday.
