If the forecast is anything to go by, we should see some lovely crisp days, sunshine and blue skies here. I will get a bit of gardening done in between paint drying. I know, pretty rock and roll, right? I did the same last weekend, getting an hour of concentrated gardening done, cold tootsies being enough to send me back indoors for a snooze. time for Six on Saturday then, Six things in the garden on a Saturday. Could be anything, a flower, a job to do, a pest, wildlife, a statue, anything at all. Join in!

Here are my Six for this week…

1 – Echinops. Looking a but scruffy now, I didn’t quite get to these in my 1 hour of garden frenzy last weekend. This weekend perhaps…

2 – Rhubarb. My biggest clump, thinking about producing stems. Future crumble right there.

3 – Clematis ‘Polish Spirit’. New growth from this clematis which I think I planted about a year ago. It grew quite well and should be vigorous this year, hopefully with plenty of flowers. I’ll prune it back next weekend.

4 – Debris. I worked fast with the seceteurs last weekend, getting quite a lot of clearing done. I now have several piles of the results scattered on the lawn. In theory I’ll cut it all up and put on the compost heap, but in practice my shredder is not working, it’ll probably all go in the green bin.

5 – The Hibiscus Border. Now misnamed because I removed the hibiscus and put it in a pot. It’s a bit of a mess, needs a good clearing away and a bit of weeding.

6 – Lobelia tupa. This was among the plants I cut back on Sunday. At first glance it’s just a bunch of dead stumps but there is new growth at the base. It’ll grow to 6 or 7 feet over the course of the year.

Those are my Six, what are yours? If you’d like to have a go, just publish your post and pop a link to it in the comments below. If you also mention my blog in yours, that would be splendid. For more details you can read the brief participant’s guide.

Have a great weekend!

I’ll be back next weekend with another #SixOnSaturday.
