Morning folks! Time for Six on Saturday. Six things, in the garden, on a Saturday. Could be anything, you decide. Join in!

Here are my Six for this first weekend of meteorological spring.

1 – Daffodil ‘Jetfire’. A reliable favourite in my garden now, I have several clumps of these.

2 – Border phlox. I liberated this from my a clump in my mother’s garden a few years ago. The flowers are white. I divided that liberated clump so I have two groups now. Both are now in exactly the spot I have reserved for the mahonia I bought some months back. I need to move them somewhere else.

3 – Shed roof, mostly repaired. Last weekend was a tiring race against time. I had a couple of days of good weather before the rain came back on Monday. On closer inspection much of the plywood was rotten so had to be removed and replaced, a job which took most of Saturday. I managed to get 2 of the 5 8m rolls of roofing felt on by the time it got dark on Saturday, leaving the rest to do on Sunday. That would have been fine but I had 2 hours driving and the small matter of a very hilly marathon race to do first. What I really wanted to do was have a nice snooze on the sofa, but instead I was perched on the shed roof for the rest of the day. I got all three of the remaining rolls done and nailed on so it was at least watertight before it rained the next day. I have yet to tidy the edges or to fully seal the joins, a job for this weekend if I’m lucky with the weather

4 – Rose Mme Isaac Pereire. Putting out nice new shoots and foliage after a good prune the other week. An almost purple pink, I’m looking forward to her flowering this year.

5 – Nope, no idea, totally forgotten. I know it is gradually spreading about, and it has yellow flowers. I vaguely recall there being something smutty about the name. I expect someone will remind me what it is. No, wait, I’ve remembered! Lesser celadine ‘Brazen Hussy’. See, bit smutty.

6 – Those allium roots from a few weeks back have been joined by top growth, and I still haven’t planted the damn things in the ground properly. At the moment every visit to the garden, every Six on Saturday even, is a bit of a reminder of the long list of things I have neglected to do.

Well anyway, those are my Six, what are yours? If you’d like to take part, and please do, just publish your post and pop a link to it in the comments below. if you also mention my blog in yours that would be triffic.

Have a great weekend, happy gardening!

I’ll be back next weekend for another #SixOnSaturday.
