At least I am consistent. No gardening was achieved last weekend, and likely not much will get done this weekend either. I’m basically waiting for it all to die back now! Time for Six on Saturday. Six things, in the garden, on a Saturday. Could be anything, you decide!
Here are my Six for this week.
1 – Lawn. Lush and green, and still growing. I need to mow it, hopefully I’ll have a chance to mow it this weekend.

2 – Prunus incisa ‘Kojo no mai’. My two small trees are very briefly a riot of colour. Sadly it doesn’t last long, the leaves drop pretty fast.

3 – Artemisia ‘Powis Castle’. I had one of these years ago, it got very woody and I ended up removing it. I bought three small plants at the beginning of the summer and stuck them in the ground in the front garden. I’ve totally neglected them, but fortunately for us Powis is drought tolerant.

4 – Aster, generic. I’m not sure what variety this is, one of several small plants bought for peanuts a couple of years ago. They are low growing, just a few inches.

5 – Nasturtium – a few flowers now to add to last week’s foliage.

6 – Clematis Tangutica ‘Bill Mackenzie’. Sticking with the yellow theme, this is another plant that has staged a recovery with the cooler, wetter weather we have have had from time to time since the summer. It is covered with flowers and fluffy seed heads.

Those are my Six, what are yours? If you’d like to have a go, just publish your post and pop a link to it in the comments below. If you also mention my blog in yours that would be splendid. For more details you can read the brief participant guide.
Have a super weekend, enjoy what gardening you can.
I’ll be back next weekend for another #SixOnSaturday.
The summer heat killed half of our lawn so it was recently reseeded. I just wish the heat had also done the same with the crabgrass!

My Kojo no mai hasn’t got its autumn tints yet, I still have that delight to come. Grass is growing very quickly here due to heavy soil and rain! Love the clematis, I’m sure I can find room for one in my new area!

I love the clematis, such a beautiful colour. A late addition from me, here is my SOS:

Still can’t decide if I have room for Bill here…I am sure he could be squeezed in somewhere! 😉 I do have two other clematis today though, at https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com/2022/10/08/six-on-saturday-including-some-leftovers/ Thanks for hosting

Good evening. Your plants all look good. I have included a nasturtium too, but not one that has much hope of flowering. Have a good weekend. https://grannysgarden229242407.wordpress.com/2022/10/08/six-on-saturday-08 -10-2022/

Lovely Prunus colour! It seems that leaf colour has changed dramatically over the last week. It is nice to see grass being green again, in spite of the work then entailed.

Mr. Wisconsingarden neglected our lush lawn until it was becoming a meadow – he is lamenting the decision to fertilize it this year and I was threatening to braid it if he didn’t get out there soon. He gave it a mow this week. Love the pops of colour. I am hoping our frost did not do everything in as it should be mild now for a few weeks and it would be nice to still have a few flowers. Here are my six:
Have a good week all!

It’s still dark here but I’m anxious to get outside to see if last night’s frost warning amounted to anything…hoping for nasturtiums on tomorrow’s salad…meanwhile, loads of colour here..

The leaves have begun to change color here in the American South. It remains dry and warm. The nights are much cooler and a cold front is appearing later next week. It should bring some rain and morning temps in the mid 40s Fahrenheit.
I am still spending a lot of time watering the garden because of the dry weather. The shrubs that do not get enough water are showing drying leaves. The hardy drought tolerant plants are still showing some blooms.
No garden tasks today. It is college football day. The Alabama Crimson Tide are undefeated and play under the lights tonight. Roll Tide!
Here’s my efforts for today.

The Clematis is just lovely, as is the Aster. Such a pity the leaves of the Prunus drop off quickly.

I love that clematis tangutica, I have tried and failed to grow it several times! My grass is fully recovered from the drought now. If ever proof was needed that lawns recover after going brown and dead looking, this year was it! Here are my six. https://davidsgardendiary.com/2022/10/08/six-on-saturday-71/

Having the growing season stretch deep into October is welcome compensation for the damage done by excess heat earlier. Plants to survive the summer are gradually replacing plants that survive the winter as a priority. Here are my six: https://wp.me/p6bCCa-3yd

Yes, it’s very nearly time to just clear it all up, but as usual I’m hanging onto the tomato plants in the greenhouse. Maybe this weekend I will bite the bullet. Love Bill the clematis, but never seem to have got round to buying one. Why?

I’ve dug my Prunus incisa ‘kojo no mai’ out. It’s suffered too much this summer. Just accepting it’s the wrong plant for my conditions. Can’t say I’m getting on with much in the garden either beyond preparing for clearing a few bits away.
This week’s six has dahlias, asters, bulbs, seed sowing and a new mangave to the collection. https://30daysofwildparenting.wordpress.com/2022/10/08/six-on-saturday-8-10-22/

I too would need to mow but there are strikes in France and the majority of gas stations near home are dry…I will wait another week or two. These clematis flowers are cute. Are they big? Or rather small? https://fredgardenerblog2.wordpress.com/2022/10/08/six-on-saturday-08-10-22/

I’ve been pulling out a few weeds in between rain events. The prunus is indeed a wonderful colour to be enjoyed while it lasts.

I also did no gardening, at least here. However, I did a bit of gardening for my colleague in Los Angeles. I removed a few items that I wanted to bring from his garden to mine. These are six of them.
It is still very early for us to expect anything to die back. That is why we do not have much time for pruning during winter. In a way, it would be nice to get an earlier start. However, I am pleased that some plants, particularly perennials, that I offended out of season can have some time to recover before dormancy.

The leaves of Prunus incisa ‘Kojo no mai’ do turn a cracking colour. It’s surprising how well a lot of plants have recovered from the hot, dry summer despite looking done for not so long ago https://onemanandhisgardentrowel.wordpress.com/2022/10/08/six-on-saturday-8-october-2022/
