I’ll have to be super brief, having forgotten to pop out earlier and now I’m out of time, I’m heading off to Wales shortly for some hill training in the Brecon Beacons.
1. Rose ‘Gertrude Jekyll’.

2. Hydrangea

3. Sanguisorba

4. Casualty of war. Remember those lupins I bought a few weeks back? Entirely destroyed. Serves me right…

5. Geranium. No variety, think I grew it from seed.

6. Rose ‘The Pilgrim’

Gotta dash!
I’ll be back next weekend for another #SixOnSaturday.
You do get about a bit! Here are my six https://davidsgardendiary.com/2022/06/18/six-on-saturday-62/

Lovely flowers, shame about the lupins.

Oops- casualties indeed! Love the sanguisorba, which are slow to get going here, and am really chuffed to have bought 3 varieties from an open garden I visited today (and the seller had others, so I was quite restrained!!). Gertrude Jekyll is an iconic rose, isn’t she? Better weather for hill training now, methinks! My six are at https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com/2022/06/18/six-on-saturday-phew/

So kind of you to share a failure along with your many successes. We all have plants disappoint from time to time. Love your roses and Hydrangea! Lovely color this week. Sorry for your lupins! I bought icelandic poppies last week that suffered the same fate! Love the sanguisorba. Enjoy Brecon Beacons!

It is hot here in the very sunny Southeast USA this week. Highs in the upper 30’s C. Gardening is difficult in that weather so maintenance tasks are the ones I am doing.

lovely flowers – sorry about the lupins. I can’t grow them either thanks to the slimy guys. However other plants attract bees and butterflies – all in their glory in my front garden today https://reclaimingparadise.wordpress.com/2022/06/18/why-flowers-are-better-than-car-parks/

I totally agree that we should avoid paving over everything. I have seen some places where they put in two narrow strips of concrete to drive on with grass or low growing plants underneath in older homes. I have also seen permeable pavers, though I do not know how well they would do in places where it freezes…https://www.agriculturesolutions.com/agtec-heavy-duty-driveway-and-parking-grid-pavers?gclid=CjwKCAjw77WVBhBuEiwAJ-YoJM7sLOm9ocpHwsVXfnb3ACK_NslJ-7asZZI9PnZIy_MjAfjgh4aNYhoC614QAvD_BwE

One has to wonder how long you are going to be able to continue hosting this popular meme – your running obsession has definitely overtaken the love of propagating. I hope that you are not experiencing the weather we are in Cornwall today – rain and fog! The Brecon Beacons can be quite unforgiving!

Yup, same weather. Probably better than yesterday’s heat tbh.

Ah, the joy of that time of year when the stuff that’s doing well looks amazing and the stuff that isn’t really doesn’t 🤣
Glad to hear you’re doing the Brecon Beacons today and not yesterday…

Your lupin joins a whole trolley of expensive lupins that just couldn’t cope with the conditions and lack of water at my local supermarket. Blackfly had mine last year so it’s never again for me. But all the other stuff looks great. Sounds like Brecon Beacons is the coolest place to be this weekend! Here’s my link: https://wp.me/p97pee-14B I’m asking how people keep their greenhouses cool!

Good morning. That poor lupin, I didn’t bother feeding the S&S this year with the usual Brussels and broccoli seedlings. Hope the run goes well, you will be quite happy that the weather is cooler today.

Your camellias are great! I love the glossy leaves and abundant flowers. There were many in Seattle – don’t see them in Wisconsin. Maybe they just don’t do winter.

I have recently planted Sanguisorba for the first time, it’s not something that’s often seen here. They’re dying down now because of winter, but I’m hoping for a good show later in the year. Happy running!
